Dear Family,

We are currently working on Unidad 1, Etapa 3 of Level I of the ¡En español! Spanish program. It focuses on authentic culture and real-life communication using Spanish in Miami. Students practice reading, writing, listening, and speaking in Spanish while learning about culture in Miami.

By completing activities, students will apply critical thinking skills as they compare the Spanish language and the culture of Miami with their own community. They will also connect to other academic subjects, using their knowledge of Spanish to access new information. In this Etapa, students are learning to describe family, ask and tell ages, talk about birthday, give dates and express possessions. They are also learning about grammar—expressing possession using de, using possessive adjectives, using days and months, and using the verb tener.
