Dear Family,

We are currently working on Unidad 1, Etapa 3 of Level 2 of the ¡En español! Spanish program. It focuses on authentic culture and real-life communication using Spanish in Miami. Students practice reading, writing, listening, and speaking in Spanish while learning about culture in Miami.

By completing activities, students will apply critical thinking skills as they compare the Spanish language and the culture of Miami with their own community. They will also connect to other academic subjects, using their knowledge of Spanish to access new information. In this etapa, students are learning to discuss ways to communicate, react to news, ask for and give information and talk about things and people you know. They are also learning about grammar—expressing position using demonstrative adjectives and pronouns, and stem-changing verbs in the preterite.
